Hurricane Wilma rolled in on time Monday morning. We woke up before 7am to find that power was out and that the shutters make quite a whistling sound when the winds are blowing. I took a handful of videos during the storm with my camera that will be posted soon. We lost power almost immediately after the storm hit. Less than 48hrs later, we were part of the 2% in Broward County that had power restored. It wasn't too bad having the electricity out since it has been really cool for the last couple of days. Plus, we were able to run the fridge and the TV off the neighbors generator allowing us to catch some excellent storm coverage on channel 7.

The damage from Wilma is extensive! I'm surprised that our Internet connection is working since all of the surrounding areas are without electricity. We've started to receive spotty cell phone coverage in the house, but even the land line went dead for over 24 hrs. Some places are predicting three or more weeks before the electricity is restored. I don't have to go into work tomorrow and I'm betting that everything will be closed on Friday as well. This gives me plenty of time to get settled in after moving last weekend.
