Giving Thanks in TexasTuesday, 11-29-2005, 1:06 am

I finally made it to the parents house on Wednesday evening after arriving at IAH around 11am. After leaving the airport with my Mom and brother Ben, we swung by my sister's house and picked her up for lunch. I ordered a meat potato at the Rib Tickler and it was a delicious potato. We then went to Target where I saw a stretchy "Instant Mohawk" in the toy section for $6.99. The interesting thing is that the exact same item was just posted here last week. Oh yeah, did I mention that Sam, Wade, and I have been working on an online store for a couple weeks in our spare time? Be sure to check out the fully functional demo.

Anyway, after we left Target we went back to Alyssa's where she was in the middle of moving out and into Nanny's old house, which is the next house over. While the moving distance was short enough, it is never an easy task when you have a lots of stuff in both houses to worry about. After a couple of loads in Alyssa's pickup, my Dad stopped by on his way home from work to diagnose a leaky propane valve. We wrapped up the trip at Alyssa's, which is the neighborhood I grew up in, by having a quick walk down memory lane with the neighbors.

As has been the trend for several years, the family met for Thanksgiving in Belville at the American Legion Hall. Shea joined us for the feast! Granny Hein told me a story of how she broke a bone in her foot a few months ago and it never hurt. She actually went the bed after breaking it and decided she would deal with it in the morning. The worst part, as she describes it, was wearing the doctor-prescribed boot for six weeks! She will be 90 in March!

Life resumed today for everyone here in TX - which means that people went back to work and school. I had the day to sit around and watch some episodes of Judge Joe Brown which can be an inspiration to us all. Tomorrow will be more adventurous, concluding with a plane ride back to FLL.

Edit: Thanksgiving pics here, here, and here.

Yeah it took me a couple of days to get the pics up, but they are up now! The Rib Tickler was a pretty convenient stop for lunch but I'd hit up Luther's any day.

I can't beleive the new Seinfeld DVDs are $40 a set! They raised the price like they must be crazy...haha. Thanks for hanging out with us for Thanksgiving - it was plenty of fun!
